Why do good things tend to happen to bad people and bad things to good people?

There are exceptions, but I notice good people tend to have more misfortune than bad people. For example, deformity, diseases, or just any general struggle in life seem a lot more common in good people than bad people, why can't the opposite be true? Whereas it seems more common for bad people to be rich, powerful, and have all the things they want in the world.
