I have recurring dreams about places I've never been. What does it mean?

I have recurring dreams about places I've never been. They come and go. Lately, it's been a cemetery. Lush green lawns and overcast skies, but I don't recall ever seeing grave markers. There are high grey stone monuments, but nothing grand or overbearing. In my last dream I was walking around with my girlfriend. We came to a part I'd never been before. A flooded c with a dumpster, of all things, to ferry you around. A few other people were there, milling around, but I didn't know them. They were....tourists or something. Is my brain trying to tell me something?
