What am I entitled too?

I worked on a drilling rig and smashed my hand resulting in the loss of my pinkie and ring finger on my right hand and leaving me with very little use of my middle finger on the same hand. I am finally being released back to work on light duty after 6 moths of this. Most of my rig buddies have been laid off and went to another company. I want to follow them as I have been told I will be hired already but I don't want to screw up my settlement. Do you think it will? Is there anyway of speeding up the process (of the settlement) to get over there quicker (and out of debt quicker)? Is there a formula I can follow to average the amount of the settlement? Should I contact a lawyer or wait to hear from the comp rep first?
