Smoking weed seems to have little effect? What is the point?

I have tried smoking weed on two occasions with some of my major druggie friends that are obsessed with it. Both were with large amounts and a bong. I can honestly say I felt more from the alcohol and had trouble identifying any great feeling from the illegal substance. So they are all like man i am stoned blah blah blah and I am like hmm... This seems to have little effect on any major functions. ::chugs more beer which actually works:: I am confused as to the point of this substance when alcohol produces much more of an effect that I can enjoy. Like I said I can't even identify what the weed did except the second time my chest felt like it was puffing out and I am sure a weak minded person would have had a panic attack. (I have a strong mind and suppressed it.) Anyways, point is alcohol has such a better effect as far as I can tell. If I was gonna do a drug ever again it would have to have a stronger effect than alcohol. Like seeing cartoon characters and purple elephants. my 2 cents
